GAME REVIEW – Jurassic Park: The Game (PSN)

Sony PSN Logo Jurassic Park: The Game is an episodic, downloadable video game developed by Telltale Games. It takes players back to Isla Nublar – the site of Jurassic Park – during and immediately after the events of the first film. Dennis Nedry’s lost Barbasol shaving-cream can and the embryos contained within once again become a major plot point as brand new characters and existing secondary ones struggle to escape the infamous dinosaur-infested island. Although the PC version (digital download) was released on the 15th of November 2011 along with the US PlayStation 3 version, the EU PlayStation 3 version (available now via the PlayStation Network) wasn’t released until mid-December 2011.

Metal Dead is an indie PC game created by Walk Thru Walls Studios, a two-man independent game developer based in Brisbane, Australia. It is the first in a planned series of comedic, heavy metal influenced, apocalyptic point-and-click adventure games. The game follows the adventures of two metal-heads, Malcolm and Ronnie, as they battle to survive in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.

TELEVISION REVIEW – The Killing: The Complete Seasons One and Two (DVD)

The Killing Seasons One & Two

The Killing (Danish title Forbrydelsen) is a BAFTA award-winning and Emmy-nominated Danish television series written by Søren Sveistrup and produced by Danmarks Radio (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation). Each series follows Detective Inspector Sarah Lund (Sofie Gråbøl) as she investigates a specific case; the first series deals with the brutal rape and murder of a 19-year-old woman named Nanna Birk Larsen, whilst the second series deals with numerous killings that somehow involve the Danish military. Both series were shown on BBC Four in 2011 to high viewer figures and overwhelming critical acclaim.

Peter McConnell is an American video game music composer who has composed award-winning scores for nearly two decades. His credits include numerous titles from LucasArts, where he spent much of his early career composing in-house for games such as Monkey Island II, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. Peter was recently kind enough to join Alternative Magazine Online for an exclusive online interview, where we got the opportunity to discuss his long and illustrious career in-depth.
