The Silent Age is a science fiction point-and-click adventure game developed by Danish indie game studio House on Fire. Originally released as two separate episodes (the first in 2012, the second in 2014) for Android and iOS devices (with over eight million mobile downloads worldwide!), the game has since been released on PC/Steam with added voice acting and Ultra HD graphics.

Kelvin and the Infamous Machine

Kelvin and the Infamous Machine is a comedy point-and-click adventure game created by Argentinian indie developer Blyts. Originally funded in 2014 via Kickstarter to the tune of $29,122, the game officially launched on Steam on 21st July 2016. Taking control of the titular Kelvin, players must stumble through time as they try to help Ludwig van Beethoven, Isaac Newton and Leonardo da Vinci complete their masterworks before the fabric of time unravels!

GAME REVIEW – Inside (PC)

Inside is a puzzle-platformer created by independent video game developer Playdead. In 2011 Alternative Magazine Online reviewed their first game Limbo, describing it as “an unforgettable, game-changing experience” and “a masterpiece.” The premise of follow-up Inside is simple: Hunted and alone, a boy finds himself drawn into the center of a dark project.

Rocketbirds 2: Evolution is a twin-stick run and gun shooter created by independent publisher and developer Ratloop Asia. The sequel to 2011’s Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, which AMO described as an “addictive” and “unusual little gem”, Evolution sees the return of tough-as-nails, plucky chicken super-agent Hardboiled. The evil penguin Putzki is somehow still alive and has teamed up with a gang of space owls. Hardboiled must hunt down his nemesis and eliminate him once and for all!

GAME REVIEW – Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture (PC)

Originally released on PlayStation 4 in 2015, the game went on to win three times at this year’s British Academy Games Awards. The Dream Machine is a point-and-click adventure game handcrafted from clay and cardboard by Cockroach Inc., a two-man independent Swedish game development studio. Following on from Chapters 1-3 (“not only a game about dreams, but a dream come true for adventure gamers”) and Chapter 4 (“inspired point-and-click storytelling from a small indie studio with big ideas and even bigger dreams”), this penultimate chapter sees Victor continuing his quest to save his pregnant wife and defeat The Dream Machine once and for all.
