Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4 is a modern remake of the classic 2005/2006 PlayStation 2 game of the same name created by the now defunct Team Ico and legendary game designer Fumito Ueda. Developed by Bluepoint Games – the studio that previously ported the original game across to PlayStation 3 along with its spiritual predecessor Ico in 2011and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shadow of the Colossus 2018 is a familiar beast that nonetheless manages to evoke an appropriate air of mystery. GAME REVIEW – Yooka-Laylee (PlayStation 4)

Yooka-Laylee is an open-world platformer developed by Playtonic Games (a team made up of Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country Rare veterans) and published by Team17. The game was funded via Kickstarter in June 2015, raising an incredible £2.1 million from more than 80,000 backers. In Yooka-Laylee, Yooka (a green male chameleon) and Laylee (a purple female bat) must work together to collect stolen ‘Pagies’ and defeat Capital B, a wealthy capitalist bee who runs Hivory Towers and plans to steal all the world’s books.

GAME REVIEW – The Last Guardian (PlayStation 4)

The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian is an action-adventure game developed by genDESIGN and Japan Studio, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Designed and directed by legendary video game designer Fumito Ueda (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus), the game was originally announced way back in 2009 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Following numerous delays and a lack of updates from Sony, there was genuine concern that the project had been cancelled.  However, The Last Guardian was finally released in December 2016 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Only one question remains… was it worth the seven year wait?

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. A sequel to the critically acclaimed original PlayStation 3 trilogy that ended in 2011 with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Uncharted 4 has been confirmed by Naughty Dog as the final game in the Uncharted series. Picking up several years after the events of the previous game, A Thief’s End sees Nathan Drake drawn back towards a life of adventure when his long lost brother Sam turns up asking for help.
