Legendary adventure game designer Jane Jensen (the Gabriel Knight series, Gray Matter) recently announced that she has licensed the Gabriel Knight IP from Activision and is working on a remake of the original game, Sins of the Fathers. Set for release on personal computers and tablets in mid-2014, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers – 20th Anniversary Edition will feature stunning high res visuals (2048×1536 3D graphics will replace the original 640×480 resolution pixel art), re-recorded voice acting and a remastered soundtrack by Robert Holmes, the game’s original composer. The Inner World is a German point-and-click adventure game created by the young and ambitious Studio Fizbin, published by Headup Games. In a universe of infinite soil, there exists a hollow world known as Asposia. The world’s air was once supplied by three wind fountains, but the wind gods – the Basylians – became angry and many of the Asposians were turned to stone. The fate of the world now lies in the hands – and flute-nose – of Robert, the young apprentice to Abbot Conroy. Watching over the last surviving wind fountain like a hawk, Conroy hasn’t been entirely truthful with Robert about his past. When Robert accidentally finds himself outside the palace, he quickly gets caught up in an adventure with a mysterious young girl named Laura that will settle the fate of Asposia, and the Asposians, forever…

Doctor Sleep is the latest novel from award-winning author Stephen King. A sequel to his 1977 masterpiece The Shining (his third published book), Doctor Sleep explores the life of a now grown up Dan Torrance. Haunted by the horrific events that took place at the Overlook Hotel when he was just a child, Dan eventually settles down in rural New Hampshire and starts using his ‘shining’ power to comfort the dying. Aided by a mysterious cat with an uncanny ability to predict death, Dan comes to be known by the locals as ‘Doctor Sleep’…

GAME REVIEW – Kentucky Route Zero Act I & Act II (PC)

Kentucky Route Zero is an episodic point-and-click adventure game split into five acts. The game is being developed and published by Cardboard Computer, an indie studio consisting of Jake Elliott and Tamas Kemenczy, using  the $8,583 raised during their Kickstarter campaign in 2011. Featuring minimal puzzles and a constantly adapting narrative, the game follows a truck driver named Conway as he tries to make a delivery via a secret and mysterious highway located deep in the heart of Kentucky…
