Moebius: Empire Rising is a point-and-click mystery thriller developed by Phoenix Online Studios in collaboration with legendary adventure game designer Jane Jensen’s Pinkerton Road Studio. The story-driven experience focuses on Malachi Rector, ‘a brilliant antiques dealer and historian whose photographic memory and eye for deduction transforms locations and clues into interactive puzzle pieces and historical patterns.’ When Malachi is hired by a secretive government agency to investigate the murder of a woman in Venice, he discovers a powerful paranormal theory that delves far into the past and could well hold the key to the future – Moebius.

INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers – 20th Anniversary Edition)

Legendary adventure game designer Jane Jensen (the Gabriel Knight series, Gray Matter) recently announced that she has licensed the Gabriel Knight IP from Activision and is working on a remake of the original game, Sins of the Fathers. Set for release on personal computers and tablets in mid-2014, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers – 20th Anniversary Edition will feature stunning high res visuals (2048×1536 3D graphics will replace the original 640×480 resolution pixel art), re-recorded voice acting and a remastered soundtrack by Robert Holmes, the game’s original composer. Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller – Episode 1: The Hangman is a point-and-click adventure game created by Phoenix Online Studios. AMO recently previewed the game, describing it as “like a mixture of Gabriel Knight, the Saw films, Stephen King’s The Dead Zone and CSI.” The full game has now been released via digital download and the verdict is in – Cognition is every bit as good as it sounds.

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller is the latest point-and-click adventure game from Phoenix Online Studios. AMO interviewed Katie Hallahan (PR Director for Phoenix Online) and Cesar Bittar (CEO of Phoenix Online) about the game in 2011. The indie studio is best known for creating The Silver Lining, a non-commercial game based on and inspired by the King’s Quest series. On 30th October 2012 the studio will release the first episode of Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller – their first commercial outing, with legendary adventure game designer Jane Jensen acting as story consultant.
