GAME REVIEW – The Journey Down: Chapter Three (PC, iOS)

The Journey Down: Chapter Three is the third and final chapter of the wonderful African art inspired point-and-click adventure game The Journey Down, created by independent Swedish studio SkyGoblin. Its release marks the end of an epic journey that began with the original free (low-res retro) version in 2010 (“there is artistry amidst its pixels, beauty within the world portrayed”), continuing with The Journey Down: Chapter One in 2012 (“any self-respecting adventure gamer owes it to themselves to experience this game”) and The Journey Down: Chapter Two in 2014 (“an indie endeavour that successfully captures the soul and spirit of the 90s adventure game”). In short, Chapter Three had two (or three) tough acts to follow.

GAME REVIEW – Technobabylon (iOS)

Technobabylon

Technobabylon is a cyberpunk adventure game created by indie developer James Dearden (Technocrat Games), published by Wadjet Eye Games. The city is Newton and the year is 2087. Players take control of Charlie Regis and his partner Max Lao, CEL agents hot on the trail of a serial Mindjacker – a criminal who steals people’s knowledge before leaving them dead. Originally released on PC in 2015 to critical acclaim, Technobabylon was released as a Universal App for iPhone and iPad on 16th August 2017.

To The Moon (iOS)

To The Moon (iOS) is a remastered mobile version of the 2011 indie RPG/adventure game of the same name, which AMO’s review described as “yet another shining example of an indie developer, free from the shackles of a mainstream gaming studio, weaving pure magic.” This version, created by X.D. Network Inc. (a game creator/publisher based in Shanghai, China) for iOS and Android devices, features upgraded HD graphics and sound, an updated interface and intuitive touch controls.
