In 2011, Alternative Magazine Online interviewed legendary adventure game designer Jane Jensen about her latest game Gray Matter, which we described in our review as being “destined to become an adventure gaming classic.” In 2012, Jane announced the formation of Pinkerton Road, a new independent studio devoted to developing adventure games with “deep and compelling storylines.” The studio will be partly funded via Kickstarter – you can help them reach their $300,000 funding goal by clicking here. GAME REVIEW – The Dream Machine: Chapters 1-3 (PC)

The Dream Machine

The Dream Machine is a point-and-click adventure game in five chapters created by Cockroach Inc, a two-man Swedish independent game development studio. The studio consists of Anders Gustafsson and Erik Zaring, who make each chapter by hand using materials such as clay and cardboard. The final result is enchanting and surreal, the stop-motion style animation perfectly complimenting a story that delves into a world of dreams, both figuratively and literally.

Walk Thru Walls is an independent game studio based in Brisbane, Australia. Their debut title Metal Dead, the first in a planned series of comedic, heavy metal influenced, apocalyptic point-and-click adventure games, was recently reviewed by Alternative Magazine Online and described as “a hilarious indie adventure game that successfully embraces the recently oversaturated zombie genre without ever seeming redundant.” AMO is therefore proud to present an exclusive online interview with Liam O’Sullivan and Robert Wriedt, the two-man team that created the game!
