Origin is the reimagining of the – you guessed it – origins of DC’s most super team of superheroes. Part of the recent New 52 releases, Geoff Johns (Green Lantern) and Jim Lee (Batman: Hush) have returned the Justice League to their roots, taking the opportunity offered by the relaunch to give the group a brand new, action-packed beginning. One that sees alliances forged, tempers flare, laughs shared and even a new member, Cyborg of Teen Titans fame, grace the ranks.

FILM REVIEW – Moonrise Kingdom

Wes Anderson is back, at last, with the delightfully quirky Moonrise Kingdom, his seventh live action feature. Set in 1965 in the quaint New England town of New Penzance, it follows two fleeing unpopular young lovers and their ensuing search party of parents, the town’s police captain and the American Boy Scouts. It stars newcomers Kara Haywood and Jared Gilman alongside Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton and received a limited cinema release on the 25th May 2012.

FILM REVIEW – A Bronx Tale (Blu-ray)

A Bronx Tale - Blu-ray

A Bronx Tale is an American crime drama originally released in 1993. The directorial debut of actor Robert De Niro (who also stars), the film tells the story of Calogero Anello (Lillo Brancato, Jr.), a young man torn between his hardworking father Lorenzo (Robert De Niro) and local mafia boss Sonny (Chazz Palminteri) in the 1960s. Palminteri also wrote the script and it is based in part upon his childhood. The film was released by StudioCanal for the first time on Blu-ray on the 18th June 2012.

GAME REVIEW – Resonance (PC)

Resonance is an indie point-and-click PC adventure game created by XII Games in collaboration with Wadjet Eye Games. Alternative Magazine Online had the pleasure of previewing the game earlier this year, concluding that: “if the preview build is anything to go by, Resonance is shaping up to be a very special adventure game indeed.” Resonance was released today (19th June 2012) in its entirety via digital download and can also be purchased as a Collector’s Boxed Edition until the 24th June 2012.
