GAME REVIEW – Chime (PC)

Chime is a puzzle game reminiscent of Tetris, Lumines and Rez, created by the Zoë Mode studio. It also happens to be published by a none-profit publisher called OneBigGame, with a slice of the game’s proceeds going to charity. The Xbox Live Arcade version hit consoles earlier this year (reviewed here) and now Steam users on PC can get in on the action too!

GAME REVIEW – Goldeneye 007 (Nintendo Wii)

In 1997, Rareware released Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo 64 to rave reviews. Based on the blueprint of the film itself, it sold well over 8 million copies and set the groundwork for all console first-person shooters to come after it. It also set the bar for any subsequent Bond games incredibly high. Maybe it was the over-powered James Bond who could carry an entire arsenal and fire two weapons at the same time, or the classic multiplayer mode that guaranteed players good competition between themselves and their friends. Whatever the reason, you would be hard pressed to find a James Bond game released since that was as much fun to play. Now, thirteen years after its debut, Activision releases their own remake of Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo Wii… and it’s different enough to become a classic game all on its own.

GAME REVIEW – Fable III (Xbox 360)

Fable III

Something felt different in the months before the release of Fable III. The promises from the Peter Molyneux felt muted in comparison to the grandiose features that failed to make it into the first two games. Perhaps he’s wise to the reputation he’s gaining, the man who promises much but delivers little, his games rarely living up the levels of hype that he creates. There’s no denying that both Fable games thus far have been wonderful adventures, but since then Fallout 3 has re-written the rules of the modern RPG. The promises made for Fable III sounded believable, but do they finally amount to the game we’ve been waiting on for six years?

GAME REVIEW – Alchemia (PC)

Alchemia is an indie adventure game created by Springtail Studio (Tomas K. and Julian Winter), creators of the the Haluz series. The former digital-download game has now been brought to the European market on physical disk by Bridgton based publishers Lace Mamba Global. It was released on 17th September 2010.
