GAME REVIEW – Old Skies (PC)

Old Skies is a point-and-click adventure game designed by Dave Gilbert and published by his independent studio Wadjet Eye Games. Having collaborated with other indie developers in recent years, this is his first personal project since Unavowed in 2018. Featuring 1080p hand-drawn graphics by artist Ben Chandler, an original score by composer Thomas Regin and professional voice acting from a large cast, Old Skies recently launched on PC, Mac and Linux after almost six years in development and will soon arrive on Nintendo Switch.

GAME REVIEW – The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow (PC)

The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow is a folk horror point-and-click adventure game from developer Cloak & Dagger Games, published by Wadjet Eye Games. Set in the sleepy British village of Bewlay, players take control of spirited author and antiquarian Thomasina Bateman, who plans to excavate Hob’s Barrow – an ancient burial mound – despite a lack of co-operation from the locals. But was the barrow sealed to stop people like her getting in… or to stop something getting out?

Unavowed is the new game from Dave Gilbert – creator of the critically acclaimed Blackwell adventure game series – and Wadjet Eye Games (Shardlight, Technobabylon). Described as an ‘urban fantasy adventure’, players take control of the latest member of an underground group of supernatural guardians known as the Unavowed, investigating the unknown and fighting evil in a perpetually rainy New York City.

GAME REVIEW – Technobabylon (iOS)

Technobabylon is a cyberpunk adventure game created by indie developer James Dearden (Technocrat Games), published by Wadjet Eye Games. The city is Newton and the year is 2087. Players take control of Charlie Regis and his partner Max Lao, CEL agents hot on the trail of a serial Mindjacker – a criminal who steals people’s knowledge before leaving them dead. Originally released on PC in 2015 to critical acclaim, Technobabylon was released as a Universal App for iPhone and iPad on 16th August 2017.
