Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4 is a modern remake of the classic 2005/2006 PlayStation 2 game of the same name created by the now defunct Team Ico and legendary game designer Fumito Ueda. Developed by Bluepoint Games – the studio that previously ported the original game across to PlayStation 3 along with its spiritual predecessor Ico in 2011and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shadow of the Colossus 2018 is a familiar beast that nonetheless manages to evoke an appropriate air of mystery. Raise thy sword by the light, and head to the place where the sword’s light gathers…

Finding Paradise

Finding Paradise is an indie adventure RPG created by hugely talented game designer Kan Gao and his development studio Freebird Games. Creating a follow-up to To The Moon – which Alternative Magazine Online’s 2011 review described as “yet another shining example of an indie developer, free from the shackles of a mainstream gaming studio, weaving pure magic” – was never going to be an easy task. Finding Paradise arrives with the weight of expectation upon its shoulders then; but can it step out of the shadow of its beloved predecessor?

Unhinged: A Danny Cleary Novel is the final instalment of a thriller trilogy that began with Cracked in 2015 – “a cracking good read, mixing the violence and dark laughs of a Tarantino film with the conspiracy-fuelled page turning of a Michael Marshall mystery thriller and the neo-noir of James Sallis” – and continued with Rehab Run – “an often shocking, hilarious and scary novel” – in 2016.
