Claire Hummel is an incredibly talented artist currently working for Microsoft Game Studios Publishing. Claire recently collaborated with Irrational Games on their hit video game BioShock Infinite, helping to design Elizabeth and the Letuce ‘twins’. In Alternative Magazine Online’s recent review of BioShock Infinite, Elizabeth was described as the “game’s secret weapon” – she truly is one of the most well-designed and memorable female video game characters of all time. Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots is a novelisation of the PlayStation 3 video game Metal Gear Solid 4 written by the late Japanese author Keikaku (Project) Itoh and translated into English by Nathan Collins. It tells the story of the legendary soldier Solid Snake as he battles both the deadly FOXDIE virus coursing through his veins that will soon turn him into a walking biological weapon, and his old enemy Liquid Ocelot, who is planning to hijack a worldwide nanotechnology network known as the Sons of the Patriots.

GAME REVIEW – Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PSN)

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. A stand-alone expansion pack for the 2012 video game Far Cry 3, players take control of ‘Mark IV Cyber Commando’ Sergeant Rex Power Colt as he completes missions on a retro-futuristic open world island. Set during an alternate reality dystopian future in the year 2007, Rex must defeat Colonel Ike Sloan, an elite agent – and former commander – who has gone rogue.

GAME REVIEW – BioShock Infinite (PlayStation 3)

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter developed by Irrational Games and published by 2K Games. Although BioShock Infinite is the third game in the BioShock series, it is actually a spiritual successor to the original BioShock (BioShock 2 was developed by a different team without the involvement of Irrational’s creative lead Ken Levine, who returns here), as well as being a standalone game in its own right. Taking place in 1912 within the floating city of Columbia, players take control of disgraced ex-Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt as he attempts to track down a mysterious young woman named Elizabeth, a message repeating over and over again in his head: bring us the girl and wipe away the debt.
