GAME REVIEW – Crysis 2 (PC)

Crysis 2 is is a first-person shooter developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to the video game Crysis (2007) and its stand-alone expansion pack Crysis Warhead (2008). Set in 2023, the player takes control of a Force Recon Marine named Alcatraz as he battles alien invaders through a ravaged New York City. Crysis 2 was released in North America, Australia and Europe in March 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

GAME REVIEW – Mass Effect 2 DLC Compilation (Xbox 360)

Commander Shepard, Commander Shepard, where art thou Commander Shepard? The human race needs you! Oh, there you are, still fighting to save the universe from those dastardly Reapers! A full year on from the initial release of the smash hit video game Mass Effect 2, those fine folks at Bioware have continued to spoil us with a plutonium load of additional downloadable content. All good things must come to an end however, as it did with the release of ‘The Arrival’, the final Mass Effect 2 DLC episode. So, let’s take a look back and wrap up all of those extras in one neat little package.

GAME REVIEW – World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (PC)

World of Warcraft isn’t something that you can form an opinion on within a few hours, let alone a few days. Even after having played for five years, I’m still not quite sure if I love it, or if it has been a colossal waste of time. The third expansion Cataclysm recently saw its first major patch, fixing numerous bugs and balancing various aspects of gameplay. Now that the dust has settled, do the changes that Cataclysm brought about reinvigorate an old world, or break it beyond disrepair?

GAME REVIEW – Tales Of Monkey Island (PC, Wii, PlayStation 3)

Tales Of Monkey Island was released to critical acclaim last year on PC, followed by ports on both Wii and PS3. I immediately noticed that there was a surprising lack of concrete detail about the quality of the console ports available online. Therefore, when I finally finished the game recently on all three platforms, I decided to share my thoughts with AMO’s readers. This review will be less a review of the game itself (which comprises five chapters, each of which is fantastic) and instead offer a write-up on the different versions available and their various strengths/weaknesses.
