GAME REVIEW – Superhot (PC)

Superhot

Superhot is a first-person shooter where time moves only when you move. Starting out as a 7 Day First Person Shooter (7DFPS) game jam project in 2013, a Kickstarter campaign launched the following year was successfully funded within 23 hours and went on to raise over $250,000. Superhot is the end result – a game where you can dodge bullets and take out your enemies in glorious slow motion, one step at a time.

The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries is a new three-part adventure game from Telltale Games, based on Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic books. Set within the comic book universe, kept separate from the popular television series of the same name, it follows on from the huge success of The Walking Dead: Season One, The Walking Dead: 400 Days and The Walking Dead: Season Two. In The Walking Dead: Michonne – Episode 1: In Too Deep, players take control of fan-favourite blade-wielding badass Michonne as she fights for her life, and her sanity, in an adventure where every split-second decision counts.

Downfall: Redux is a horror adventure game from auteur game designer Remigiusz Michalski, creator of The Cat Lady. A remake of his first game, the point-and-click adventure game Downfall (2009), Downfall: Redux once again joins troubled husband Joe Davis as he tries to save his marriage. A planned romantic getaway to the Quiet Haven Hotel soon turns nasty when his depressed wife Ivy goes missing from their room. To get her back and achieve redemption, Joe must face a series of horrific obstacles that will reveal exactly what kind of man he really is. Meanwhile, the storm outside rages on…

The Slaughter: Act One is a Victorian noir point-and-click adventure game created by Brainchild, a one-man studio operated by Alex Francois. Described by its creator as ‘Blue Velvet meets Monkey Island‘, with a budget of £8,170 raised by 403 backers via Kickstarter in 2013, this is the first part of a three-act adventure following alcoholic private investigator Sydney Emerson as he investigates a string of grisly serial killings. Join him as he navigates the dangerous streets of Victorian London, before delving inside his head to discover the subconscious clues hidden within his dreams…
