The penultimate episode of Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse has finally arrived. Regular readers of AMO will remember that I was slightly disappointed with last month’s effort, feeling that the latter parts of the game were rather safe and cookie cutter. Thankfully, the cliff-hanger ending certainly made up for any prior misgivings, indicating that the next instalment would be a much stronger endeavour. It was therefore with great anticipation that I loaded up Sam & Max’s latest adventure, Beyond The Alley Of The Dolls…

They Stole Max’s Brain! is undoubtedly the most difficult Telltale episode I have had to review for some time. It successfully showcases what the company has quite rightly became synonymous with over the past few years (amazing storylines and characters) along with some of their earlier missteps showing up too (puzzles that are too easy, the occasional glitch). GAME REVIEW – Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse, Episode 2 – The Tomb Of Sammun-Mak

By Marty Mulrooney

episode2

Those wonderful individuals at Telltale Games have done it again! The new series of Sam & Max started out strong with the release of Episode 1: The Penal Zone last month, but I never imagined in a million years that Episode 2 would trump that prior outing so quickly. Yet, with The Tomb Of Sammun-Mak, they may well have done just that. Ladies and gentleman, the bar for this brand new series featuring our favourite crime solving anthropomorphic dog and his hyperkinetic rabbity thing sidekick has just been raised!
