Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – once again written and directed by James Gunn, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures –  is the sequel to the critically and commercially successful comedy/science fiction/superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).  In this much-anticipated follow-up, the Guardians must stand beside Peter Quill as he finally discovers who his father is. Meanwhile, the team is being hunted by a race of golden-skinned, genetically-engineered beings known as the Sovereigns, who become furious after Rocket steals some batteries from them…

Tangled Up In Blue is the first episode of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, a new five-part episodic adventure game from Telltale Games (The Walking Dead: A New Frontier). Based on the comic book series of the same name (but taking inspiration from the recent film adaptations directed by James Gunn), this debut episode finds the Guardians – Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Drax the Destroyer – answering a Nova Corps distress call and battling Thanos of Titan.

FILM REVIEW – Iron Man 2

I’m a bit of a superhero nerd, and thankfully Hollywood has had a pretty decent run of super-movies as of late (ignoring The Spirit of course). Iron Man 2 is no exception and is a fairly enjoyable addition to the genre, albeit with more of the same product placement and director Jon Favreau trying, and failing, to be funny.

FILM REVIEW – Kick-Ass

Kick-Ass is the latest in a long line of superhero flicks to hit the big screen. Based on the recent comic book series by Marvel (the film rights were actually sold before the comic went to print), I knew from the trailers it was going to be pretty insane. So I eagerly took my seat in anticipation of what would hopefully be a fresh spin on this often sadly formulaic genre.
