GAME REVIEW – Hitman: Absolution (PlayStation 3)

Hitman: Absolution is the fifth entry in the Hitman series of stealth action video games, following on from 2006’s Hitman: Blood Money. Players once again take control of Agent 47 as he undertakes a variety of missions… and this time, it’s personal. Developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix, Hitman: Absolution was released on the 20th November 2012 (the 47th week of the year) and is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

GAME REVIEW – 007 Legends (PlayStation 3)

007 Legends is a first-person shooter where the the player takes control of iconic British secret agent James Bond (the game features the likeness of the most recent Bond actor, Daniel Craig). Created by Eurocom (GoldenEye 007: Reloaded), 007 Legends comprises six missions, with each mission based upon a Bond film, one for each actor to have portrayed 007 on-screen. The game is available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and Wii U.

Cognition An Erica Reed Thriller

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller – Episode 1: The Hangman is a point-and-click adventure game created by Phoenix Online Studios. AMO recently previewed the game, describing it as “like a mixture of Gabriel Knight, the Saw films, Stephen King’s The Dead Zone and CSI.” The full game has now been released via digital download and the verdict is in – Cognition is every bit as good as it sounds.

GAME REVIEW – Worms Revolution (PC, PlayStation 3)

Worms Revolution is the latest instalment of Team17’s popular Worms series of artillery strategy video games. When Alternative Magazine Online previewed the game last month, we noted that “Worms Revolution could mark a pleasing return to form for the series.” AMO has extensively played the PC (Steam)/PlayStation 3 (PSN) versions of the game and the verdict is in. So, does Worms Revolution manage to revolutionise the series and return it to its roots?
