GAME REVIEW – Gemini Rue

Gemini Rue is a science fiction adventure game created by independent developer Joshua Nuernberger. Three years in the making, the game was recognised at the 2010 Independent Games Festival as their Student Showcase winner. Set within a bleak vision of the future dominated by a crime syndicate known only as the Boryokudan, players take control of Azriel Odin, an ex-assassin with a shady past, and Delta-Six aka Charlie, a prisoner in a secret facility who has had his memory wiped clean. Gemini Rue was released today (24th February 2011) via digital download and can also be purchased on Limited Edition CD until the 27th February 2011.

GAME REVIEW – Back To The Future: The Game – Episode 2: Get Tannen!

Back To The Future: The Game returns this month with Episode 2: Get Tannen! In my review of Episode 1: It’s About Time I described it as “a film-to-video game adaptation done right” and Episode 2 undoubtedly builds upon these solid foundations. However, I also speculated that many players would be “hoping for a greater challenge across the board in future episodes”. Therefore, I approached Get Tannen! safe in the knowledge that the overall experience would be fan-pleasingly authentic, but also hoping deep down that the gameplay would be far more substantial this time around…

The long-awaited, much-anticipated return of improvisational Necromorph slayer Isaac Clarke has finally arrived. A direct follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2008 survival horror third-person shooter Dead Space, Dead Space 2 – developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts – sees a leaner, meaner, much more vocal Clarke grabbing his trusty Plasma Cutter once again to save the day… and hopefully this time, his dementia ridden mind.
