GAME REVIEW – Super Meat Boy – Ultra Rare Edition (PC)

Super Meat Boy Ultra Edition 2D

Super Meat Boy is an award-winning indie platform game developed by Team Meat (Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes). It was released on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade in October 2010, and on PC in November 2010. In August 2011, publisher Lace Mamba Global released two retail versions of the game: the Ultra Edition (which includes a digital soundtrack, a 40 page comic/sketch book, a double-sided poster and secret bonus content) and the Ultra Rare Edition (which includes everything present in the Ultra Edition as well as an additional T-shirt!)

Hector: Episode 3 – Beyond Reasonable Doom is a point-and-click adventure game created by Straandlooper Animation, published by Telltale Games. Only a few months after Episode 2: Senseless Acts Of Justice was released – described in AMO’s review as being “just as crude, rude and hilarious as ever” – Episode 3 begins with Hector and his trusty sidekick Lambert stuck in a septic tank rapidly filling with liquid poo! Just another day in the Clappers Wreake Police Department…

Driver: San Francisco is an open world driving game developed by Ubisoft Reflections and published by Ubisoft. The latest instalment in the Driver franchise once again puts the player behind the steering wheel as hardened detective John Tanner – joined by long-time partner Tobias Jones – as he tries to bring criminal mastermind Charles Jericho to justice.

A New Beginning is an award-winning point-and-click adventure game from Daedalic Entertainment, makers of The Whispered World and Edna & Harvey. An eco-thriller with a twist, it tells the entwining stories of Fay, a radio operator who claims to be from the future, and Bent, a former scientist who was working on an eco-friendly alternative energy source before he retired. Together, they must save the world from a global climate catastrophe that threatens the very existence of humanity.
