Worms Revolution is the latest instalment in the hit video game series that began with the original Worms turn-based artillery game in 1995. Seventeen years later, in October 2012, Team17 plans to release Worms Revolution – which has been developed from the ground up and features a brand new game engine. After some dodgy 3D instalments – we’re looking at you Worms 3D – and several HD re-releases of the original Worms games, only one question remains. Can Worms Revolution revolutionise the series and return it to its roots?

When Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse was announced as a Kickstarter campaign last month (23rd August 2012), a funding target of $400,000 was set and fans around the world rejoiced. After only two short weeks (on 6th September 2012) $400,000 was achieved… and then surpassed. Stretch goals were announced and only one question remained – what would the final amount raised be? Today, on Saturday 22nd September 2012, the Broken Sword 5 Kickstarter campaign closed its doors with $771,561 pledged, 14,032 backers and over 30,000 comments! And that’s not including PayPal…

FEATURE ARTICLE – Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars – The Film Script

Over the past few weeks Alternative Magazine Online has been covering Revolution Software’s Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse Kickstarter campaign. I have been chatting every day since the Kickstarter was announced with my fellow Broken Sword fans and have been overwhelmed by not only the friendliness of the community that has evolved, but by each individual fan’s efforts to spread the word about Broken Sword 5. Revolution Software started something truly special when they announced Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse and the fans have made it even better. This film script – which was written with the permission of Revolution Software co-founder Tony Warriner – transfers the iconic opening of the original Broken Sword adventure game to the typed page. It is my way of saying thank you to all the staff at Revolution Software, my friend Rolf Saxon and all the new friends I have made via the Broken Sword 5 Kickstarter campaign. Paris in the fall…
