Dead Space Salvage

Dead Space: Salvage is a graphic novel written by Antony Johnston (Wasteland, Daredevil) with art by Christopher Shy (Soul Stealer). Recently reissued in the UK by Titan Books, the story – set within the same universe as the commercially and critically successful Dead Space video games – follows a group of deep space scavengers called ‘The Magpies’ as they attempt to salvage an abandoned spaceship… the USG Ishimura.

INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Tom Szirtes (The Realm Kickstarter, Lantern Interactive)

The Realm is a beautiful new point-and-click adventure game currently being developed by Atomhawk Design and Lantern Interactive. The combined teams hope to raise £195,000 via Kickstarter to fund the game by the 22nd May 2013. In The Realm, players take control of Sarina, ‘a headstrong young girl who leaves the safety of her village to embark on a desperate quest to discover a cure for her sick mother’, and Toru, ‘a legendary giant stone golem’. Together, the unlikely pair begin ‘a treacherous adventure set in a far distant future where the world has been reclaimed by nature.’ AMO is therefore proud to present an exclusive online interview with Lantern Interactive technical director Tom Szirtes!

Ben Lo is a Canadian concept artist at BioWare who previously worked as an ‘Environmental Concept Artist’ at Irrational Games. Ben helped design many of BioShock Infinite’s stunning locations. In Alternative Magazine Online’s recent review of BioShock Infinite, it was noted how “Columbia doesn’t feel like a series of video game levels – it feels like a real place steeped in history and built upon misguided beliefs and plenty of bloodshed.” AMO is therefore proud to present an exclusive online interview with Ben Lo!

INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Agustin Cordes (ASYLUM: From the designer of Scratches, Senscape)

Asylum is ‘a psychological horror adventure inspired by H. P. Lovecraft and set in a massive, decaying mental institute.’ Currently being developed by Senscape, the game was successfully crowd-funded via Kickstarter in late February 2013. Agustin Cordes, the man behind the cult horror adventure game Scratches (which sold over 250,000 copies), seems determined to make this an equally terrifying, albeit much more polished experience for fans of the genre. There will be an entire asylum, with close to 100 rooms, to explore.
