GAME REVIEW – Braid

By Duncan Voice

Whenever I let The Missus test her wits on the Xbox, I must admit, I do get a bit frustrated. Watching over her shoulder, trying to resist the temptation to grab the controller back off her as she neglects to shoot the red barrel which five enemies have handily stood next to, or unloads a sniper clip into an enemy’s leg rather than take the head clean off at the neck.

There’s something that all gamers of relative experience tend to share, this knowledge of gaming conventions, our hidden weapon against even the hardest of modes. By Marty Mulrooney

Hey guys! Today, we hit a milestone with our 17,000th visitor! I am amazed how Alternative Magazine Online has grown, from what was basically a small blog, into a fully functioning site. We also recently took on another writer, bringing the count to four including myself. Welcome to the site Stewart Sutherland!

One of the standout games from not only the summer, but possibly the year is the wonderfully titled ‘Splosion Man, from Twisted Pixel, creators of the well received The Maw. On paper, it is a typical platformer, with the task of making your way to the end of the level in as quick a time as possible. Sound familiar? Fear not, you will have never played anything like this before! Continue reading
