GAME REVIEW – Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered (PC and PlayStation 4)

Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered is a five-episode point-and-click adventure game (collected here as a complete package) starring everyone’s favourite six-foot-tall canine detective in a suit and his hyperkinetic rabbity-thing sidekick. Following on from Skunkape Game’s previous remasters of Sam & Max Save the World in 2020 and Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space in 2021, this third and final season of Sam & Max dusts off the original 2010 release from the Telltale Games archives and brings it bang up to date for modern PCs and consoles in 2024.

Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space Remastered (aka Sam & Max Season Two) is a five-episode point-and-click adventure game (collected here as a complete package) starring everyone’s favourite six-foot-tall canine detective in a suit and his hyperkinetic rabbity-thing sidekick. Following on from last year’s stellar remaster of Sam & Max Save the World, the Skunkape Games team has once again taken a classic from the Telltale Games archives and given it a fresh lick of modern paint.

Sam & Max Save the World Remastered is a six-episode point-and-click adventure game (collected here as a complete package) starring everyone’s favourite six-foot-tall canine detective in a suit and his hyperkinetic rabbity-thing sidekick. That’s right, the Freelance Police are back, in a new – or rather, old with a fresh lick of rainbow paint – release that sees Sam and Max investigating a sinister plot involving hypnosis, the Toy Mafia and the bright side of the moon.

Jared Emerson-Johnson is an award-winning music composer, sound designer, voice director, and voice actor. Perhaps best known for his compositional work for Telltale Games – he composed the soundtracks for all three seasons of their Sam & Max adventure games – he most recently composed the scores for Back to the Future: The Game, Puzzle Agent 2, and Jurassic Park: The Game. Jared has kindly agreed to join Alternative Magazine Online for an exclusive online interview, where we discuss his work with LucasArts and Telltale Games, as well as his voice acting roles and other creative endeavours!
