GAME REVIEW – Resident Evil 3 (PlayStation 4)

Resident Evil 3 (2020)

Resident Evil 3 is a remake of the classic survival horror game of the same name that debuted on the original PlayStation in 2000 here in the UK (it was released in 1999 in Japan and the US). Following on from last year’s incredible reimagining of Resident Evil 2 (be sure to check out AMO’s review here), this much anticipated follow-up returns players to Racoon City as former S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) member Jill Valentine, who is trying to escape the city before it’s destroyed by a missile strike while being hunted by a deadly bioweapon called Nemesis.

Nick Bounty and the Dame with the Blue Chewed Shoe is a comedy noir adventure game created by Pinhead Games aka Mark Darin, a former Telltale Games writer/designer that previously worked on hit titles such as Tales of Monkey Island and Puzzle Agent. Inspired by the classic adventure games of LucasArts and Telltale Games before it, Nick Bounty’s latest case starts with the naked body of a dead woman buried in a playground sandbox.

The Art of Death Stranding explores the art of legendary Japanese video game designer Hideo Kojima’s latest award-winning project, which Alternative Magazine Online’s review described as “one of the most beautiful experiences of this console generation.” It’s a lavish hardback coffee table book filled with hundreds of pieces of concept art covering nearly every character, costume, item of equipment, location and creature featured in Death Stranding on PlayStation 4, published by Titan Books in the UK.

LUNA The Shadow Dust is a hand-animated point-and-click adventure game created by Lantern Studio, a small creative indie game design team consisting of just four people. Featuring traditional frame-by-frame character animation with 20 minutes of animated 2D cinematics, LUNA puts players in control of a young boy and his mysterious cat-like companion as they climb an ancient tower one puzzle-filled room at a time.
