Jared Emerson-Johnson Interview

Jared Emerson-Johnson is an award-winning music composer, sound designer, voice director, and voice actor.  Perhaps best known for his compositional work for Telltale Games – he composed the soundtracks for all three seasons of their Sam & Max adventure games – he most recently composed the scores for Back to the Future: The Game, Puzzle Agent 2, and Jurassic Park: The Game. Jared has kindly agreed to join Alternative Magazine Online for an exclusive online interview, where we discuss his work with LucasArts and Telltale Games, as well as his voice acting roles and other creative endeavours!

Hardcoregaming101.net Presents: The Guide to Classic Graphic Adventures is ‘an ode to one of the oldest genres in electronic gaming’ – aka adventure games – compiled and edited by Kurt Kalata. It is 772 pages in length and covers over 300 games, focusing on such prominent publishers as LucasArts and Sierra On-Line, as well as several other popular and not-so-popular series and games. It also includes a number of interviews with classic game developers such as Al Lowe (creator of Leisure Suit Larry) and Corey Cole (creator of Quest for Glory).

The Journey Down: Over The Edge is a point-and-click adventure game created by Theodor Waern, with music by Simon De Souza. Five years in the making, this isn’t just any freeware Adventure Game Studio project either. Over The Edge has been put together so expertly that one could be forgiven for thinking that it is in fact a long lost LucasArts classic from the glory days of the adventure gaming genre. There is artistry amidst its pixels, beauty within the world portrayed. Welcome to The Journey Down.

GAME REVIEW – Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (Xbox 360)

The Star Wars franchise is easily one of the biggest merchandising machines ever invented. Countless books have followed its success, and for every character that has appeared on screen, Hasbro have turned around and made a toy. Out of the dozens of games that have been set in the Star Wars universe, the story of an anti-hero secret apprentice to Darth Vader blew fans away. A sharp, 3D action game set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, The Force Unleashed was the closest thing to becoming a Jedi. Two years later, does the sequel have the same impact that the original had? Don’t bet on it.
