Asylum is ‘a psychological horror adventure inspired by H. P. Lovecraft and set in a massive, decaying mental institute.’ Currently being developed by Senscape, the game was successfully crowd-funded via Kickstarter in late February 2013. Agustin Cordes, the man behind the cult horror adventure game Scratches (which sold over 250,000 copies), seems determined to make this an equally terrifying, albeit much more polished experience for fans of the genre. There will be an entire asylum, with close to 100 rooms, to explore. Alternative Magazine Online is therefore proud to present an exclusive online interview with independent video game designer – and founder of Senscape – Agustin Cordes!

The film stars Ryan Gosling as Luke Glanton, a motorcycle stuntman who turns to a life of crime in order to support his family, and Bradley Cooper as Avery Cross, a policeman who makes a split-second decision that will change his life forever.

GAME REVIEW – The Cave (PC)

The Cave

The Cave is a downloadable 2.5D platform-adventure video game developed by Double Fine Productions and distributed by Sega, released in January 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC (Steam). The game’s producer is none other than Ron Gilbert, the legendary game designer behind such classic adventures as Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island. Based on an idea Gilbert had over 20 years ago, players must select three unique characters before descending into a cave that eerily reflects their darkest personality traits.

BOOK REVIEW – Dead Space by Antony Johnston and Ben Templesmith (Graphic Novel)

Dead Space is a graphic novel written by Antony Johnston (Wasteland, Daredevil) with art by Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night, Dark Days). Recently reissued in the UK by Titan Books (it was originally released to tie in with the video game Dead Space in 2008, which was also written by Johnston), the story mostly follows P-SEC Sergeant Abraham Neumann as he attempts to survive a Necromorph outbreak on a distant human colony.
