The Many Pieces of Mr Coo

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo is a surreal point-and-click adventure game created by artist, 2D animator and director Nacho Rodríguez, previously the animation director of Ubisoft’s gamified, connected program O.zen. Described by publisher Meridiem Games as ‘a new take on the adventure game genre that will appeal to veteran players and newcomers alike’, players must take control of Mr. Coo in a strange and nonsensical world as he tries to find the three pieces of his body that have become separated – his head, torso and legs – and put himself back together again.

GAME REVIEW – Burnhouse Lane (PC)

Burnhouse Lane is the latest horror adventure game from Rem Michalski, aka Harvester Games. It tells the compelling story of Angie Weather, an agency nurse with a terminal illness who must complete five impossible (and gruesome) tasks to win her life back. Following on from the success of the critically acclaimed Devil Came Through Here trilogy – The Cat Lady, Downfall: Redux and Lorelai – was always going to be a fairly tall order, but Burnhouse Lane builds on the strengths of its predecessors to offer something undoubtedly familiar yet ultimately different.

The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow is a folk horror point-and-click adventure game from developer Cloak & Dagger Games, published by Wadjet Eye Games. Set in the sleepy British village of Bewlay, players take control of spirited author and antiquarian Thomasina Bateman, who plans to excavate Hob’s Barrow – an ancient burial mound – despite a lack of co-operation from the locals. But was the barrow sealed to stop people like her getting in… or to stop something getting out?

Inspired by heavyweights of the genre such as Broken Sword, players take control of Milda – a girl from Chicago – as she unravels a mystery that will see her packing her bags and journeying through modern-day Europe ‘to reveal the secrets of the King who was never crowned.’
