BOOK REVIEW – R.E.M. by Ryan Culucci and Zsombor Huska (Graphic Novel)

R.E.M. is a black-and-white graphic novel written by Ryan Culucci (Harbor Moon) and illustrated by Zsombor Huska. Successfully funded via Kickstarter in September 2013, R.E.M. tells the story of a brilliant but paranoid neuroscientist called Michael Letto. Obsessed with conquering the mysteries of sleep, Michael invents Soma: a chair that allows the user to get a full night’s sleep in only a matter of minutes. This incredible invention soon draws attention from both the military and a secretive religious order, but Michael has no intention of sharing his discovery with the world…

GAME REVIEW – Kentucky Route Zero Act I & Act II (PC)

Kentucky Route Zero is an episodic point-and-click adventure game split into five acts. The game is being developed and published by Cardboard Computer, an indie studio consisting of Jake Elliott and Tamas Kemenczy, using the $8,583 raised during their Kickstarter campaign in 2011. Featuring minimal puzzles and a constantly adapting narrative, the game follows a truck driver named Conway as he tries to make a delivery via a secret and mysterious highway located deep in the heart of Kentucky…

INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Zach Hurd (Zach Hurd – 4th Studio Album Kickstarter)

Alternative Magazine Online reviewed the She Never Sleeps EP in 2012, describing it as “the dull ache and lonesome musicality of Ray Lamontagne with slightly more light at the end of the tunnel”, before going on to say that Zach Hurd is “a singer songwriter that’s crying out to be discovered by the masses and truly deserves to be.” To fund his 4th studio album, he is hoping to raise $10,000 via Kickstarter by the 20th October 2013. INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Robert Busey (Sword ‘N’ Board Kickstarter Campaign)

Sword ‘N’ Board is a puzzle orientated adventure currently being created by indie game developer Robert Busey, formerly of Big Fish Games and Hashbang Games. Robert hopes to raise $7,500 via Kickstarter to fund the game by the 6th September 2012. In Sword ‘N’ Board you play as Sidd, a kid with an active imagination who must battle his way through imaginary enemies, cardboard forests and dark pillow fort dungeons, solving challenging puzzles in order to find the pieces of his lost video game console!
