Showcasing several parallel stories that at first appear totally unrelated, the overarching narrative deals with group behaviour in a darkly comedic manner. Involuntary is now showing in cinemas across the UK.

Dead Rising 2 is the long-awaited follow-up to the 2006 Xbox 360 exclusive Dead Rising, once again pitting players against flesh-eating hordes of zombies with whatever make-shift weapons may come to hand. The sequel requires no knowledge of the previous game and is an entirely standalone experience. Exclusivity seemingly forgotten, Dead Rising 2 was recently released on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC port soon followed, which is the version being reviewed here on AMO today. It’s a game in the true spirit of Halloween, with vampires, monsters, ghouls, goblins, bats, creepy old ladies and terrifying French accents. Many of you will remember Typing of the Dead, a cult Dreamcast game that had you shooting zombies not with a large plastic peripheral, but with good grammar. Each correct word typed downed a zombie in a shower of blood and perfect English. Texting of the Bread is the debut game from Screwattack.com, and doesn’t so much borrow the same formula as basically shrink it down to fit on your iPhone.
