The Bloody Red Baron by British writer and film critic Kim Newman is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed alternate history vampire novel Anno Dracula. Set 30 years after the end of the first book during World War 1, the Diogenes Club investigates a secretive German flying operation that exchanges aircraft for monsters, the most fearsome of which is known as the Red Baron. Titan Books reprinted Anno Dracula in a brand new paperback edition in 2011 that included a wealth of extra material. They follow suit with this new version of The Bloody Red Baron, which includes a lengthy new novella, detailed annotations and an action-packed film outline.

FILM REVIEW – Prometheus

Prometheus is a science fiction film directed by iconic English film director and producer Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator). The film serves as a loose prequel to his 1979 sci-fi horror classic Alien, taking place in the same universe whilst exploring new themes and grander ideas. At the end of the 21st century, a team of scientists travel on the spaceship Prometheus to a distant planet in search of the ‘Engineers’ who created mankind and all life on earth.

GAME REVIEW – Max Payne 3 (PlayStation 3)

Max Payne 3 is the third instalment in the Max Payne video game franchise, with development duties this time being undertaken by Rockstar Vancouver in collaboration with Rockstar New England, Rockstar London and Rockstar Toronto. Its release marks the first Max Payne game not created by Finnish game developer Remedy Entertainment of Alan Wake fame and not written by series creator Sam Lake. Max returns in 2012 with a major booze and painkiller addiction as he takes a job as a private security guard for the wealthy Branco family in São Paulo.

Driven is an American crime novel written by James Sallis. It is the sequel to his 2005 novel Drive, which was recently made into a critically acclaimed major motion picture starring Ryan Gosling. Shifting location from L.A. to Phoenix, the story picks up seven years after Driver finished his revenge spree against those who double-crossed him. Now calling himself Paul West and running a successful business, he is suddenly drawn back into the life of violence he thought he had left behind when his fiancée is brutally murdered on a hot Saturday morning.
