By Marty Mulrooney

RolfSaxonInterview

Rolf Saxon is an American actor living in London. He has appeared in a wide variety of television shows, films and plays, although he is perhaps best known by his fans as the voice of George Stobbart in the Broken Sword series of video games. When I first started AMO, I made a wishlist of people I wanted to interview and over the past two years I have been lucky enough to speak with many of them. Rolf Saxon has always been top of the list and I am therefore delighted to present a recent interview with him where we discussed his acting career and all things Broken Sword!

GAME REVIEW – Broken Sword: Shadow Of The Templars – The Director’s Cut (Nintendo Wii, PC Digital Download)

By Marty Mulrooney

BrokenSwordDC

Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars (known as Circle Of Blood in the United States) is a point-and-click adventure game that was first released on PC way back in November 1996. One of the greatest adventure games of all time, it has been re-released many times over the years, including a PlayStation port in December 1996 and a Game Boy Advance port in March 2002. Finally, the game was re-released as a Director’s Cut for Nintendo Wii in March 2009, before finally returning to PCs everywhere in August 2010. AMO will be focusing on these final two versions of the game for our review, although please note that it is also available, albeit in slightly altered form, for both Nintendo DS and iPhone (iPhone version reviewed here).

51VCMSRD25L._SL500_AA300_ Broken Sword is a title synonymous with adventure games fans around the world, having spawned numerous sequels and establishing itself as one of the most loved and successful game franchises of all time. This month, the director’s cut of the original game Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars finally saw a release on PC and Mac, proving that there is still life in the title fourteen years later. However, in 2006 The Angel of Death, the most recent addition to the Broken Sword canon, came and went without so much as a blip on the gaming radar. Now, the time feels just right to take a step back and remember the one that got away. But does it live up to its older and more popular siblings?
