Texting Of The Bread

Many of you will remember Typing of the Dead, a cult Dreamcast game that had you shooting zombies not with a large plastic peripheral, but with good grammar. Each correct word typed downed a zombie in a shower of blood and perfect English. Texting of the Bread is the debut game from Screwattack.com, and doesn’t so much borrow the same formula as basically shrink it down to fit on your iPhone.

GAME REVIEW – Hector: Badge of Carnage, Episode 1 (iPhone)

Games for the iPhone and iPod Touch are things I usually stay away from (with the exception of maybe Solitaire) but there’s no denying that they’re starting to take off. A game I recently found late one night turned out to be a real gem to play – it had a dirty sense of humour but was too much fun to put down, even at four a.m. That game is Episode 1 of a planned series: Hector: Badge of Carnage.

GAME REVIEW – Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars, The Director’s Cut (iPhone)

It’s been great seeing a resurgence of the old style adventure games recently. I’m admittedly pretty terrible at them, and fairly resentful of anything that makes me think of something more complex than what to have for dinner, but as a gamer it was great to see the much loved point and click adventure genre make such a comeback last year.

I’ve got very fond memories of struggling through Discworld Noir, whilst The Feeble Files remains near the top of my satisfying completion list. And now, for the bargain price of £2.99 on iTunes (and by this I mean buy it, you loon) you get to enjoy one of the most loved adventure games ever released…
