INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Paul Carrack (Singer/Songwriter)

By Marty Mulrooney

Paul Carrack

Paul Carrack is a British singer/songwriter who was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. He has played with many successful bands over the years including Ace, Squeeze, Mike & The Mechanics and Roxy Music. He has also toured extensively as a session musician and enjoyed success as a solo artist. Last year, I reviewed Carrack’s latest offering A Different Hat, which I described as “an album that manages to take a wide range of aging material and successfully bring it bang up to date.” The album also featured in AMO’s ‘Best of 2010 Awards’. I am therefore delighted to present an exclusive interview with Paul Carrack where we discuss his extensive music career.

INTERVIEW – In Conversation With Merle Dandridge (Actress, Half Life 2)

By Marty Mulrooney

Half Life 2 completely blew me away when it was released in 2004. Not only did the game totally deliver on its promises, it managed to succeed where many other shooters up until that point had arguably failed, featuring quality characterisation and genuine relationships with non-player characters. Case in point: Alyx Vance, a female sidekick that, although attractive, didn’t need to wear a low-cut top for millions of fans to fall in love with her. Voiced to perfection by Merle Dandridge, Alyx was a breath of fresh air in a genre that was fast becoming stale. With Episode 3’s release date still unknown, AMO was delighted when Miss Dandridge agreed to join us to discuss this iconic character and all things Half Life in an exclusive interview…
