GAME REVIEW – The Dream Machine: Chapter 4 (PC)

The Dream Machine is a point-and-click adventure game handcrafted from clay and cardboard by Cockroach Inc., a two-man independent Swedish game development studio. Originally planned to be split into five chapters, the much delayed and highly anticipated fourth chapter grew so large than it had to be split in two, effectively creating an additional chapter (there will now be six in total). In August 2013, Victor returns in the quest to save his pregnant wife and defeat The Dream Machine, in an adventure that AMO described in 2012 (in our review of Chapters 1-3) as “not only a game about dreams, but a dream come true for adventure gamers.”

Chaos on Deponia is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Daedalic Entertainment. A sequel to Deponia (and the middle instalment of a planned trilogy), the game once again follows sardonic hero Rufus as he tries to save the planet of Deponia and win the Elysian girl(s?!) of his dreams, Goal.

GAME REVIEW – Primordia (PC)

Primordia

Primordia is an indie science fiction point-and-click adventure game developed by Wormwood Studios and published by Wadjet Eye Games. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where man has long since become extinct, players must take control of the robot Horatio Nullbuilt and his floating droid companion Crispin as they set out on a quest to recover a stolen power core.

GAME REVIEW – The Walking Dead: 400 Days (PC)

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is a DLC episode for Season One of Telltale Games’ award-winning video game series, The Walking Dead. In 2012 Alternative Magazine Online described The Walking Dead: Episode 5 – No Time Left as “a tear-jerking masterclass in interactive storytelling. It is undoubtedly Telltale Games’ magnum opus, a bona fide masterpiece that will be talked about for years to come.” 400 Days bridges the gap between Season One and the yet to be released Season Two by putting players in the shoes of five brand new characters as they make split-second decisions that will change their lives – and the lives of those around them – forever.
