Alternative Magazine Online recently reviewed a wonderful new indie adventure game entitled The Journey Down: Over The Edge, describing it as “one of the most essential adventure gaming experiences of the past few years”. In an exclusive interview with AMO, creator Theodor Waern kindly joins us to answer some questions about the game – sharing plenty of design sketches and production artwork along the way – and also reveals some new screenshots from the recently announced The Journey Down: HD!

FILM REVIEW – Black Swan

In the months leading up to its release, the cinema world has been abuzz about Darren Aronofsky’s latest feature Black Swan. Set within the competitive world of a prestigious New York ballet company, this dark psychological thriller examines themes of mental illness, jealousy and duality. With 2008’s critically acclaimed The Wrestler under his belt, Aronofsky has yet again turned to a tale of physical dedication… but, does this film starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis live up to all the hype or is it just another standard psychological horror flick?

FILM REVIEW – The Assassin Next Door

The Assassin Next Door is an Israeli drama directed by Danny Lerner. Originally released as Kirot in 2009, the film stars former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) as Galia, an enslaved prostitute for the Israeli mafia. Desperate to get back home to her husband and daughter in Ukraine, Olga reluctantly agrees to become an assassin after a failed escape attempt nearly gets her killed. The Assassin Next Door was released today (14th February 2011) on DVD in the UK.

FILM REVIEW – Bella

Bella is an independent film directed by Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, starring Eduardo Verastegui (CSI Miami) and Tammy Blanchard (Moneyball, Rabbit Hole). Set in New York City, the film tells the story of a cook named Jose (Verastegui) and a waitress named Nina (Blanchard), and how one act of kindness between them changes both of their lives forever. Bella grossed more than $10 million in domestic box office during its US theatrical release, finishing the year as one of the top 10 independent films of 2007. Bella was recently released in the UK (7th February 2011) on DVD.
