MUSIC REVIEW – The Davey Brothers: Wolfbox (Credible Records)

By Marty Mulrooney

WolfBox

The Davey Brothers first came to my attention via the 2003 film Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life, with their infectious tune ‘Heart Go Faster’. Unfortunately, it seemed I was destined to never acquire a CD of their music to call my own: their elusive album, Monkey No. 9, was out of print everywhere. HMV couldn’t acquire it for me, neither could Virgin Megastore. I even ordered it off several Amazon sellers, yet time and time again there was some issue along the way and it never arrived. I would therefore be delighted to share the cream of the crop with you based on my foray into the world of online journalism during 2009. Read on!

MUSIC REVIEW – John Mayer: Battle Studies

By Marty Mulrooney

JohnMayerBattleStudies

John Mayer has just released his forth studio album. Comprising of 11 tracks, with a total runtime of 45 minutes… I thought this was the safe bet of 2009. I have seen John in concert (I’m seeing him again in January), I have all his albums and I know where he’s at. At least, I thought I did. Battle Studies has completely blindsided me.
