Victorian Undead: Sherlock Holmes vs Zombies is a graphic novel written by Ian Edgington with artwork by Tom Mandrake. Originally published as a six-issue mini-series, it offers a mash-up of genres, pitting classic literary figure Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Watson against a zombie outbreak – and their old nemesis Professor Moriarty – in 1898 London.

Lenore, The Cute Little Dead Girl is a comic series created by Roman Dirge, inspired by the poem ‘Lenore’ by Edgar Alan Poe. Lenore is – quite literally – a cute little dead girl who lives in a place called Nevermore with her collection of extremely odd friends. Lenore: Cooties collects issues 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Lenore’s original comic, now digitally remastered and recoloured by Roman Dirge.

BOOK REVIEW – Pinocchio: Vampire Slayer by Dusty Higgins and Van Jensen (Graphic Novel)

Pinocchio: Vampire Slayer is a 2009 graphic novel by Dusty Higgins and Van Jensen. A horror-themed follow-up to the original story by Carlo Collodi (where Pinocchio stays a puppet at the end rather than transforming into a real boy), this is an inventive – and often comedic – take on the iconic character, drawn in a highly stylised black-and-white manner. It was named among the Top Ten Graphic Novels for Teens by YALSA in 2010 and the first printing sold out within a few months.
