BOOK REVIEW – Dracula: The Un-Dead

The official sequel to Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel Dracula, co-written by a direct descendant of Stoker himself (whom we interviewed in 2009 here), Dracula: The Un-Dead is wonderfully executed.  It is a book that takes any whispered accusations  of being a mere cash-in, throws them aside,  and in the process provides a story that is not only worthy of being called an official successor to the classic novel, but is actually a brilliant tale in its own right.

I recently had the unique opportunity to speak to Dacre Stoker, co-author of new book Dracula: The Un-Dead (along with Stoker historian Ian Holt), published by our friends at HarperCollins here in the UK, and E. P. Dutton in the US.

For those unaware Dacre Stoker, a Canadian citizen and resident of the U.S., is the great-grandnephew of Bram Stoker. Yes that’s right, the Bram Stoker who wrote classic horror novel Dracula in 1897, changing our perceptions of the mythological vampire forever! Continue reading
