Welcome!
- An Englishman in New York: After some thought, Marty decided not to turn himself in. Returning to England, he created his site in the hope that he would one day be paid to ramble on pointlessly like this.
New Introduction: Alternative Magazine Online is now officially a real site. Thousands of visitors, a thriving community, several new writers joining me… these are exciting times. My original introduction mentioned how things on here were ‘slightly barren, so lets see how much we can make this thing grow’. Well, it turns out we can grow a lot! We have (often exclusively) interviewed authors, directors, designers, musicians and many more creative minds. We have reviewed PC, iPhone, Xbox360, PS3 and Wii games. We have made contacts with distributors, book publishers and game designers. Things are not slowing down at all, if anything they are speeding up. I couldn’t be more excited and I thank our readers and affiliates for making this possible. As an aspiring writer/ journalist… you have all humbled me tremendously.
Original Introduction: This blog was born in a very peculiar manner. I am a student journalist who loves to write, and have always written for my own pleasure, both personally and academically. It was only when a fellow writer, Igor Hardy, contacted me to do an article for him after he saw a forum post I created, that I eventually plucked up the courage to make this blog and give it all a go myself. I am currently writing for adventureclassicgaming.com, with some other projects in the pipeline, as well as graduating in the summer of this year (2009). The blog is named after the student magazine I created for my media and film degree of which I am very proud. The idea for this blog is to carry on the principles of that magazine and branch out further online. Any feedback on anything posted on this blog is greatly appreciated and all comments will be taken on board. It is slightly barren now (2nd April 2009) so lets see how much we can make this thing grow!
This blog will take the form of an Online Magazine, entitled Alternative, that will cover games, books, music, films and everything in-between!
I hope you enjoy Alternative Magazine Online!
