Well, I'd gotten around to finishing the main aspects of the disc (completing 1, 2 and 3 on basic difficulty) and the game as a whole is a must have for any Metroid fan. Still, I stand by what I mean when I say that the Corruption control's were accurate and fun but Echos and the original Prime were fine with their old style as well. When you play them all one after the other, there's a lot of daylight between 2 and 3 (which is smoother, more rounded and has a lot of extra switches/actions that make use of the motion controls). But again, it's a definate purchase for a Metroid fan. A fun extra is the Fusion suit for Prime 1, which is unlockable after finishing the first game. Before you needed Fusion, a Gameboy Advacnce and a link up cable, so I think when I play again I'll enjoy the Fusion suit for a change.

Definite food for thought there within the aspect of the first game which i'd enjoyed years back, contrasted against the push/pull of the new control mechanism.
One to ponder on, I think - and perhaps not the must purchase i'd originally mused it might be.
A superbly detailed review, thank you Stewart.
